PTSO - Parent Teacher Student Organization

What is the PTSO?

The Hillsdale High School PTSO is an all-volunteer organization that partners with teachers, parents and their students to help foster an excellent educational environment at Hillsdale.

The PTSO:

  • Supports the rigorous student academic programs at HHS through Financial Grants to school programs and activities.
  • Provides a centralized way for parents to volunteer their time to support the school.
  • Helps cultivate a supportive environment with community-builder events.
  • Furnishes parents with information and education through events, communications and announcements.

***** To learn more, please visit: www.hillsdalehighptso.org  *****

Our next PTSO meeting is Monday, February 13 at 7pm in room 210.

We look forward to seeing you at our meetings, programs, and events, and to working with you as a parent volunteer.  Click here to download our bylaws.

How can parents be involved at Hillsdale?

There are many different ways for parents to be involved at Hillsdale, from volunteering at one-time events to serving on a committee throughout the year.

Some of these are:

  • PTSO committees, such as Hospitality (provide snacks for different events throughout the school year), Teacher Wish List, Senior Scholarship (help choose award winners), Event Planning, and more.
  • Volunteer time as needed. Parents are needed throughout the year to help with different events, such as Picture Day or the Holiday Fair.
  • Booster groups for Athletics, Drama, Music, and Dance. These groups provide support for these activities throughout the school year.
  • Parent Advisory Liaison. Parents to work with teachers for each house, to help coordinate house activities (similar to room parent.)
  • Library assistance. Many parents volunteer on a weekly basis in the school library.
  • Do you have a special skill? Let us know!

To volunteer, please contact Deborah Cowing at volunteer@hillsdalehighptso.org

The HHS Foundation welcomes all new families and returning families to Hillsdale this year!

The Foundation’s mission, as in past years, is to foster a “community” of giving to financially support Hillsdale High school and its unique Smaller Learning Community (SLC) environment.   We are so glad over 260 families have already made non-booster donations to the Foundation’s Family Partnership Program (FPP).  We have reached 60% of our goal to raise $150,000 this year to fund:

1. Teaching staff for 12-college level classes

2. SLC House and department needs

3.  Continue the outstanding Internship program.

But we are not there yet – and need everyone’s help to meet our commitment - plus work towards our goal of 100% family participation at ANY level!

If you have already given to the FPP (beyond the booster donations) we are so grateful, and acknowledgment letters and incentive coupons will be sent to you shortly.  If you have not yet given to the Family Partnership program itself, please do so now by filling out the FFP Donation form’s first line (Page 4) in the HHS Documents to Return Packet here. Please return your completed form to the school’s office at any time.
