The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) report for the Stadium Light and Public Address System Project is underway and the public comment period for the Notice of Preparation (NOP) is open for the 30 day public comment period. Save the Date! - August 9th for Maze Day
Hillsdale will host our incoming freshman on August 9th from 4-6 pm. This will be an opportunity for freshman to get their schedules, take pictures for ID cards, take a campus tour, get lockers, and PE uniforms.
Families, plan to come at 6pm to join your students for an hour long presentation from administration and to meet the teachers from your house to do a question/answer sessions.
Support Computer Science at Hillsdale
Hillsdale is partnering with TEALS to bring high quality Computer Science to Hillsdale again next year, including a new section of AP Computer Science. We are looking for industry support and are hoping that our parent community can help with time or contacts. Please see attached for details.
Congratulations to our National Merit Finalists!
Competition for National Merit Scholarships is nationwide and rigorous. More than 1.5 million juniors from 22,000 high schools took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in order to begin the process to vie for the 2016 awards. This year, officials of the National Merit Scholarship program have announced that about 7,500 U.S. high school seniors have been named National Merit winners.
The GATE Parents Group has partnered with Mindful Schools to sponsor and bring their online courses, to SMUHSD for all parents, teachers and staff, free! - to you for the next year. To learn more about mindfulness, the courses and how to sign up look here.
Looking for more patience and less stress? Summer is here and it might be a great time to learn a new skill MINDFULNESS. Mindfulness is a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and environment. Research finds that mindfulness decreases stress and anxiety, increases attention, improves interpersonal relationships, fosters compassion and strengthens emotional regulation.

If you have been by the school in the past month, you have noticed the construction that has started on the southwest corner of the campus.
